This type of program allows the consumer to employ and train caregivers of their choice; be it a family member, relative, or friend, with the exception of a spouse or anyone under 18. The caregivers are to serve the consumer with the same services given in a traditional in-home care service. As such, these chosen caregivers can be paid for their service.

- Able to direct/supervise their own care
